This trip to Game Stop was for headphones yet he wound up with a new controller as well. He used logic. He said: " I use my system for play, but for work as well, so this is a tax write off." I looked at him. Shook my head up and down like I was saying yes, and said, No! Nice try. Put it back unless you can pull fifty bucks out of thin air. He smiled and pulled out his Harley Davidson wallet. I looked at it and said, where's your Deadpool wallet? He ignored me and pulled out $50.00. I shook my shoulders, took the cash and charged it along with his new headphone. After all, that was our goal. A new head-set. We're walking to the car, and I'm thinking, this is nice. Now I don't have go to the ATM to get cash. We get in the car and he's fumbling with his new gear. I smiled and ask him. Hey, pal, where did you get the fifty dollars? He shrugs his shoulders and says, "You know." I pulled away from the curb and get to the light, and said, no I don't know. Why don't don't you tell me. He goes: You know. You remember. Now I take a deep breath and repeat, no, I don't know. Why don't you tell me. I'm starting to feel like Tommy grilling Henry in a twisted episode of Goodfellas, when he put the box down, and said. You gave it to me grandpa. So, I thought about it for a second, and remembered he was right. I said, and you didn't care to remind me before we paid for the new controller? I asked you to hold this cash so we can put toward your headset, pal. He gave me some legal disclaimer like he was a mini Judge Judy. I listened to him mainly to see if he'd make a good litigator. He did a pretty job, especially when he played the role of Devils Advocate at the very end. He said: "Relax grandpa, I'll make a few more videos for you and we'll be even!" I though he was his mother for a second. She used to negotiate everything while growing up. I said, great! we'll get up early, have breakfast and get started right afterwards. Oh, by the way, breakfast is at 0500 hours. Do you remember what time that is? He nods.
The next morning: "What's on the menu grandpa?" Says Harley Ice. "Hmm. looks like I'll be cooking for myself. 6:00 AM, and he's in the studio already? I'll just make some scrambled eggs, toast and coffee. Too early for bacon." ... March 27, 2020
